Donald MacPhee won the Gold Medal at the Northern Meeting Solo Piping Competition. His reeds are known worldwide for their quality and are played by many top soloists.

Alastair Dunn won the Gold Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering 2009 using a Peter Henderson Blackwood chanter and MacPhee reed.
